The biggest Van Halen fan site since 1996, Van Halen Desk, has shared a recent article on both Twitter and their website and revealed never-before-seen footage of Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth’s ’74 Pasadena Backyard Party Meele Show.

The author of ‘Van Halen Rising: How A Southern California Backyard Party Saved Heavy Metal’ and ‘Ted Templeman: A Platinum Producer’s Life In Music,’ Greg Renoff, has posted a recent tweet to give Van Halen fans and Wolf Van Halen a holiday gift.

While sharing the golden-worth footage from 1974, Renoff also tagged Wolf Van Halen to pay tribute to Wolf’s late father and one of the most legendary guitarists of all time, Eddie Van Halen. Later on, Van Halen Desk took that video to their web site as well as their Twitter account.

As you can see in the video below, Eddie and David were playing a ‘now-legendary’ Pasadena backyard party on November 9, 1974. Even though there is no sound in the video, it can still be seen that the young rock icons were having a great time playing live in front of their early-day fans.

Here is what Greg Renoff wrote in his tweet:

“A holiday gift for VH fans & especially ⁦@WolfVanHalen⁩For yrs I heard whispers about footage from the huge 9 Nov 74 Pasadena backyard party I wrote about in VHR.

Santa just delivered to me. Enjoy this glimpse into the past. RIP EVH. VH forever.”

Van Halen Desk shared this:

“Unearthed silent film footage of a young #VanHalen playing a now-legendary backyard party in ’74! Watch here.”
