The wife of the producer and guitarist Eddie Van Halen, Janie Liszewski Van Halen has taken Instagram to recall the time when she and Eddie went to New York for the men’s magazine Esquire’s art gallery just before Eddie’s cancer treatment.

As you may know, the legendary musician Eddie Van Halen has been battling against cancer on and off. After a former tongue cancer diagnosis in 2000, Van Halen underwent an operation to remove cancer along with roughly a third of his tongue.

Though he was declared cancer-free in 2002, the sources said that he occasionally had cancer cells scraped out of his throat after they migrated there. Last year, it was revealed that Eddie had been receiving radiation treatment in Germany for his throat cancer.

Janie Van Halen, who is one of the biggest supporters of Eddie during this tough period, has recently posted a picture of herself with him from the art gallery, in which Eddie Van Halen’s photograph was displayed.

Marking the time before Van Halen’s treatment, Janie’s post displayed how happy he looked before going under major changes in his appearance. Janie said in the caption of the post that she loves Eddie’s smile in this picture.

Here is what Janie Liszewski Van Halen said in her latest Instagram post:

“That time we went to New York for Esquire art gallery. Photo installation. Love that smile.”
