On his official Instagram account, the iconic musician Elton John shared a quote from civil rights leader John Lewis and expressed his condolences after Lewis’ sad death.

American civil rights leader and politician John Lewis survived a brutal beating by the police officers during a march in Selma, Alabama in 1965 which led him to become a major figure in civil rights movements. Lewis also served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia’s 5th congressional district.

The 80-year-old civil rights icon diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer in December last year. On July 17, 2020, John Lewis sadly passed away in Atlanta, Georgia after a six-month battle with cancer.

Recently, the legendary musician Sir Elton John shared a quote from John Lewis on his official Instagram account and expressed his condolences after the death of the great leader.

On the caption of his post, Elton John mentioned what a wonderful person Lewis was and paid tribute to him for all the great work he had done.
