Elton John, who is the iconic British musician and a leading figure in culture, has recalled one of the biggest concerts of his career when he got on the stage in Central Park, on September 13, 1980, in a Donald Duck suit.
The legendary singer and pianist Elton has been sharing some of the dearest memories of himself from years ago for a while now. As you may remember, John has taken his fans 50 years back with a throwback post in which he remarked the first time he played in America.
Through his latest post on Instagram, Elton John reminisced about 40 years ago. Sir Elton said that he went on stage dressed in the most unexpected suit, as Disney’s Donald Duck. He added that he got there for a free concert to 500,000 people in Central Park.
John thanked the designer of the outfit, Bob Mackie, and Calvin Klein for sponsoring the whole gig, in which the longest costume change in history occurred. It was stated that Elton John’s personal assistant, Bob Halley, helped him to change his costume as John expressed his fear that the people would go after seeing him like that.
Here is what Elton John said in his latest Instagram post:
