Elton John, the iconic British singer, and composer has celebrated his 30th sobriety birthday this year with the love and support of his kith and kin.

One of the most legendary musicians of the 20th and 21st centuries, Elton John has been very open about his mental health issues and the related addictions he has been fighting against.

John stated at the beginning of the 2000s that the pressures of stardom had increased by 1975 and turned into a serious problem for him. He revealed that during ‘Elton Week’ in that year, he had a cocaine overdose.

Elton John also said that he had developed bulimia which is a kind of eating disorder. Fortunately, John has been giving good news about his health of late years. Recently, he has penned an open letter that he wrote he would be dead now if he didn’t ask for help with his bad habits 30 years ago.

While celebrating the 30th anniversary of his sobriety, John expressed how thankful he is for the endless support of his beloved ones on his journey to survive. Elton John said that it is a magical day and he is a blessed man.

Here is what Elton John said on his latest Instagram post:

“Reflecting on the most magical day having celebrated my 30th Sobriety Birthday. So many lovely cards, flowers, and chips from my sons, David, friends in the Program, the staff at the office and in our homes.

I’m truly a blessed man. If I hadn’t finally taken the big step of asking for help 30 years ago, I’d be dead. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the people who have inspired and supported me along the way. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️😇😇”
