English singer and pianist Sir Elton John posted new footage from the latest ‘Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars’ today and announced how much money they raised to fight HIV.

As you may already know, Sir Elton John founded the AIDS Foundation Academy Awards back in February 1993 and the first-ever party was made in the same year. That night, Elton managed to raise $300.000. While the party was made the same month every single year for 28 years, Elton had to postpone the 28th annual of the party due to a coronavirus outbreak.

While many other stars like Dua Lipa and Rina Sawayama joined Elton in the party, according to the official statement of the British legend, they managed to raise $3 million to fight AIDS and this is the most-gathered foundation since the very beginning of the EJAF Oscars.

Here is what Elton wrote in the caption:

“What an incredible night at #EJAFOscars, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris with a live performance from the beautiful Dua Lipa. Thanks to YOUR support, we raised $3 million to fight HIV/AIDS.

This virtual affair will be one to remember and I’m so grateful to all my friends who participated and to everyone who joined us to make it one-of-a-kind. We can still put on a party, even if it’s virtual! Missed it? Catch the final USA, Canada, UK, and Europe streams, powered by Webex tonight.”
