The Dutch symphonic metal band Epica finally released their highly anticipated eighth studio album ‘Omega/Ωmega‘ and treated their fans with a feast for the eyes music video for the album’s third track ‘The Skeleton Key.’
As you may recall, back in February 2020 Epica’s frontwoman Simone Simmons had announced that they had completed pre-production of their next album, and in March Epica had gone into the studio to start recording. In October 2020, Nuclear Blast said that the album was going to be named ‘Ωmega‘ and announced that it’s going to be released on February 26, 2021.
Prior to the release of the album, Epica teased their fans by releasing three tracks, namely; ‘Abyss of Time – Countdown to Singularity,’ ‘Freedom – The Wolves Within,’ and ‘Rivers.’ All of the songs were highly appreciated by both fans and critics and they increased their audience’s excitement and raised their expectations.
Just yesterday, on February 26, Epica released their latest album ‘Ωmega/Omega’ and less than an hour later, they shared the first music video for their new album for the song ‘The Skeleton Key.’ The music video has already received hundreds of thousands of views and fans expressed their happiness with the band’s new album in the comment’s section.
Here’s what a fan said in the comments section of ‘The Skeleton Key’ on YouTube:
“When I was listening to this song I was like ‘This should have a video‘ and here I am, 45 minutes later, watching this music video.”
This is what another fan said:
“It’s called ‘The Skeleton Key’ because this song hits so deep inside you that your bones feel it all. From the earthshaking basslines to the epic guttural vocals, brilliant drumming, and Simone’s powerful vocals. Amazing.”
