The former drummer of Dream Theater and the current member of Sons Of Apollo, Mike Portnoy, has posted a recent photo on his official Instagram page and paid tribute to the late Beatles icon George Harrison on the 19th anniversary of his death.
George Harrison was possibly the quietest member of The Beatles but not the least talented for sure. While most of the songs of The Beatles were written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon, George himself has written at least two compositions of The Beatles’ albums since 1965. Unfortunately, George has died from lung cancer back in 2001 when he was just 58 years old.
As Mike shares his condolences for George Harrison and The Beatles family, he did not forget to tag the official Instagram page of George, his beloved widow Olivia, The Beatles, and the son of Goerge, Dhani Harrison in the caption of his post. Mike also stated that his favorite Beatle changes every single day but today it is definitely George.
While almost 6K people pushed the like button for George Harrison’s memory in less than a day, one of the followers who liked the post was Mike Portnoy’s lovely daughter and also a die-hard The Beatles fan just like her father, Melody Portnoy.
Here is what Mike Portnoy wrote:
“Gone 19 years ago today…😢 The eternal question of ‘Who’s your favorite Beatle’ for me changes every single day… Today is George’s day. 🙏
R.I.P George Harrison, Feb 25th, 1943 – November 29th, 2001.”
