The legendary former drummer of Dream Theater and currently working with Metal Allegiance and Sons of Apollo, Mike Portnoy, has shared a touching anniversary message to her lovely wife to share what does it mean to be with her for 26 years.

While Mike sends lots of sincere photos with her beloved wife Marlene Portnoy, he called her as his better half and declared his love for Marlene once again.

After sending these photos, over 20K people pushed the like button on the post and asked their wondered questions to Mike and one of them is about if he ever wrote something special for his wife. Mike answered the question and admitted that he wrote the lyrics of ‘You Saved Me’ from The Winery Dogs to his wife.

Here is the caption and the anniversary message by Mike Portnoy:

“Happy 26th Wedding Anniversary to my better half Marlene Portnoy!

Thank you for always being there for me and always putting up with me for over 30 years now! I 💘 U.”

An Instagram user and also the follower of Mike named Jon Crawford Jr. has asked:

“Is there a song in your expansive catalog that you have written for her?”

Mike Portnoy responded:

“Yes indeed! I wrote the lyrics to The Winery Dogs, ‘You Saved Me’ for/to her…

And on this day (our anniversary) 6 years ago in 2014, Richie let me sing it to her that night on stage at the Keswick Theater in PA! 😎”
