Former drummer of Dream Theater, Mike Portnoy, has shared a new photo on his official Instagram account and described his feelings about the death of six legends.

In the post, Mike shared pictures of Cozy Powell (drummer of Whitesnake), Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley (original vocalist of Alice In Chains), Mark St John (guitarist of KISS), Paul O’Neill (vocalist of Savatage), and Jim Marshall (owner of Marshall Amplification).

These legends all died on the same date, April 5, and Mike saddened after learning this. Also, he prayed for their souls and paid his tribute to these legends in this way.

Mike’s post got around 7K likes less than a day, and most of the fans prayed for them in the comment section of the post.

Here is what Mike Portnoy said:

‪”Damn, didn’t realize April 5th was such a shared death day…😳 RIP to them all 🙏”

A fan named David Brian wrote:

“Seems like April 5th is actually the day the music died. Crazy…”

Another fan named Natasha Wiggs added this comment:

“I knew Kurt and Layne were today, did not realize the others. 💔”
