Former drummer of Dream Theater Mike Portnoy posted the photo of Spotify CEO Daniel Ek on Instagram and reacted to his statements about the artists not producing enough music by calling him ‘a greedy little bitch.’

As you might know, a few weeks ago, the CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek, made some unfortunate statements regarding the rate of album releases of the musicians. In an interview he joined, Ek responded to the claims that Spotify wasn’t paying artists enough for the stream of their music.

Daniel Ek also asserted that nowadays the artists were releasing new music ‘once every three to four years’, which he claimed was not enough.

Here’s what Daniel Ek stated during the interview:

“Some artists used to do well in the past may not do well in this future landscape where you can’t record music once every three to four years and think that’s going to be enough.”

Recently on Instagram, ex-Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy posted the photo of Spotify CEO Daniel Ek and reacted to his statements. On the caption of his post, Portnoy claimed Ek was ‘a greedy little bitch’ who stole the efforts of hardworking artists and made billions of dollars out of them.

Moreover, Mike mentioned he had eight full albums to release this year and he would probably make less money than he deserved. Lastly, the talented drummer urged his fans and followers to be aware of the situation and support directly the musicians so that their music would be able to survive.

Here’s what Mike Portnoy stated on the caption of his recent post:

What a greedy little bitch… It’s bad enough that he’s worth billions based on stealing and giving away other musician’s music… But now he’s suggesting we make more music for him to make more money!!!

For the record, I have 8 full album releases in 2020 and will make absolute peanuts on them (if anything at all…) So his theory of artists needing to make more music to succeed is shit! F-this guy and F-Spotify! 🖕

Support the artists directly if you want them to be able to continue to make music…🤬 #fuckspotify
