Former Judas Priest singer Tim “Ripper” Owens spoke in an interview with David Slavkovic from Ultimate-Guitar and praised legendary Judas Priest singer Rob Halford.

Interviewer asked:

“What was it like for you to perform for the first time live with Judas Priest? What was the most difficult part at that moment of filling in the role that once belonged to Rob?”

Tim responded:

“Well, I’ve gotta tell ya, I was really confident. Which was kind of funny. I was prepared and ready to sing, so I just knew that once I walked on stage and sang I could sing the songs live.

But I always knew it was a hard task. I mean, you’re talking about a singer that was the Metal God. He was the man, one of the top voices in metal. And the personality and everything…

I knew it would be tough, but I just knew that if they are just… I could sing the stuff. I was my own self and I could sing the stuff. So I always felt pretty good with that.

On working with Glenn tiptop and K.K Downing, he said:

“Oh, it was great. I think some of the funnest times in my life with a band was with them. They treated me great, really friendly, we had such a great relationship. I have nothing but great things to say about them.

The thing I miss about Judas Priest is I just miss hanging out with them. We just had a lot of fun together so I definitely miss that.”
