Speaking to Yesterdaze News Magazine, former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee explained his thoughts about rejoining to Ozzy’s band.

He also revealed the secret phone call he got from Ozzy Osbourne’s wife/manager, Sharon Osbourne. He said ‘I would. I don’t think it’ll ever happen’ and continued:

Sharon [Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife and manager] had called me somewhere… 2009 maybe, 2010… somewhere in there. She tracked me down and called me and asked me if I’d be interested in doing some festivals with Ozzy and possibly the next record.

At that time, I told her, ‘Yeah, I don’t have any problem with doing that.’ I said, ‘But it’s always irked me. If you could just get my name on to the songs that I wrote on ‘Bark At The Moon’, then we can move forward.

And that was obviously not gonna happen. And it was the same when I talked to [producer Kevin] Churko [who worked on Ozzy’s ‘Scream’ album]. He said if I was gonna do anything with Ozzy, what would it take? And I said that again.

I’m not holding a grudge about it — I’m not harboring any ill will about it — but I feel like that was somewhere where I got screwed. And if we can fix it, then I’m willing to do something with him again.”

Two days ago, he talked with Eddie Trunk and explained why he don’t play Ozzy songs during his live performances. He said:

“I haven’t played any Ozzy songs in 30 years, I thought it would be fun so we threw some of that in there. It quickly, for me, became uncomfortable to play the Ozzy songs.

I know I was the guitar player on those songs, and I wrote the music but it just didn’t feel honest to me. They are Ozzy songs, despite my contribution to them, they pretty much belong to Ozzy as far as I’m concerned.”
