Fall Out Boy made an official announcement about the cancellation of some of their upcoming shows along with Green Day by sharing a new post on Instagram.

Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer collaborated to make ‘Hella Mega Tour’ which was originally announced back in 2019, and set to start in 2020. However, the pandemic affected the tour as it did the other events.

‘Hella Mega Tour’ was rescheduled to this year due to the safety precautions. The tour started last month and it is planned to end next year. Although the tour just started, the bands had to deal with some bad news.

Yesterday, Fall Out Boy announced on social media that one of the team members was diagnosed with COVID-19, and they won’t be attending the New York and Boston shows because of that. Furthermore, the band relieved that everybody on the staff is fully vaccinated, and they are following the safety protocols. Additionally, Fall Out Boy mentioned that Green Day and Weezer will continue to tour during this period.

Fall Out Boy’s official announcement about the Boston and New York shows via Instagram:

“Out of an abundance of caution, Fall Out Boy will not perform at the New York and Boston shows of the Hella Mega Tour due to an individual on the band’s team testing positive for COVID. Green Day, Weezer, and The Interrupters will perform as scheduled.

It’s important to note that everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated. Each band and their crew have operated in a bubble independently to safeguard everyone as much as possible at each show and in between shows.

The tour also has a COVID safety protocol officer on staff full-time that is ensuring everyone is closely following all CDC guidelines.”
