Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares recalled the time when the original singer Burton C. Bell left the band during a recent interview with Rockin’ Metal Revival.
Burton C. Bell is the co-founder of Fear Factory, and he had been playing with the band since its formation. However, he left the band in late 2020 due to ‘consistent series of dishonest representations.’
In the recent conversation, Dino was asked if he was surprised by Burton’s decision or not. As Dino said, he wasn’t surprised at all because he had also left the band back in 2002 and 2007 but was shocked with the way that he did it.
However, Dino pointed out that he is pretty disappointed with how Burton left Fear Factory because he thinks that the frontman was pretty bitter while announcing this decision and tried to sabotage the band.
Additionally, Dino stated that it was a rough period of time when Burton made the decision, but he recovered from it thanks to the new album ‘Aggression Continuum,’ that was released in June 2021.
“Were you shocked or disappointed that Burton actually left?”
Dino Cazares replied:
“Yes… But it’s not a surprise because he’s done it in the past back in 2002, he quit the band and then he quit the band again in 2007, so it’s not really that much of a surprise.
I was just a little disappointed in the way he quit the band, he was kind of, for whatever reason, he was pretty bitter and tried to sabotage the band.
It was an ugly period for me to have to try to go through that on my own, but luckily, I was able to get this record out to everybody.”
