Five Finger Death Punch’s former guitarist, Jason Hook, recently posted a younger photo of himself on his Instagram account and announced that he has a special Christmas gift for his fans and followers.
Jason Hook had been Five Finger Death Punch’s guitarist since 2009 when he replaced Darrel Roberts. However, he had to leave the band in late 2019 after his gallbladder surgery. While Hook was still recovering from his surgery, the band started touring again in Europe and Hook had to leave early to have additional time for his recovery.
Thus, the band started working with Andy James who replaced Jason Hook. It was a difficult departure for both the band and Hook, as they had been working together for 13 years, had released 8 successful studio albums, and two greatest hits compilations.
It seems like Hook has missed those days as in his recent Instagram post, he shared a photo from over six years ago in which he has posed very seriously. He mocked his own pose with a Joker reference and asked ‘Why so serious?’
He also announced his Christmas gift for his fans and followers which is a lucky draw for signed Epiphone explorers. Hook said that his aim is to perform an act of kindness to someone who could use a ‘pick me up‘ as a wise man once told him that if he wants to see more kindness in the world, he needs to contribute to that.
Here’s what Jason Hook said in the caption of his Instagram post:
“#flashbackfriday September 7th, 2014 ~ Kill Your TV? Lol, why so serious? 🤦🏻♂️
Anyway, it’s that time of year again and in the spirit of Christmas, I’m gifting one of my Epiphone signature explorers to anyone that could use a ‘pick me up.’ A wise man once said ‘If you want more kindness in the world, put it there’
This is a global contest, I will ship the guitar anywhere in the world. I will announce the winner on December 25th good luck! ~ H00K”
