The co-founder and bassist of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flea, recently posted a photo of Cloris Leachman on his Instagram account and paid his respects to the award-winning actress who he had admired since he was young and with whom he had the chance to collaborate.
As you know, Flea highly enjoys using his social media accounts, and in specific his Twitter and Instagram accounts, to express his views on various matters, inform his followers about his upcoming projects, and pay tribute to the artists and musicians who have inspired him throughout his life.
With his recent Instagram post, he paid his respects to Cloris Leachman, the world-famous actress and comedienne who is best known for her astonishing performance in The Last Picture Show, Young Frankenstein, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Aside from being known as the most awarded actress in Emmy history, she was also famous for her kindness and humbleness.
As it turns out, Flea was a huge fan of the successful actress whose career spanned more than seven decades. In fact, he even got the chance to meet her in person in the mid-’90s when he spent a month on a project with her. Flea said that she was always ‘kind, helpful, thoughtful and the best storyteller ever.’
Here’s what Flea said in the caption of his Instagram post:
“I love Cloris Leachman! There will never be another. From The Last Picture Show to Young Frankenstein to The Mary Tyler Moore Show (of which I never missed an episode my crush on Mary Tyler Moore knew no bounds) she inhabited my heart and I am better for it. Wackiest hilarious characters and deepest expressions of soulful pain, she did it all.
At one point in the mid-nineties, I spent a month on a project with her, us in a room together all the days long, and she was kind, helpful, thoughtful and the best storyteller ever in the history of the known universe. What a great life lived, she straight up rocked it. All my love to her.”
