Freddie Mercury Online, which is one of the biggest Instagram fan pages dedicated to the late Queen legend Freddie Mercury, has revealed the story of a little-known relationship of Mercury with an Austrian soft porn actress, Barbara Valentin.
To the surprise of many, one of the most reliable sources about Freddie Mercury on Instagram has unveiled a hard-to-define affair of Mercury with a woman other than his famous girlfriend, Mary Austin, who had a long-term relationship with the singer until he told Austin of his sexuality.
According to the fan page, Barbara, who was described as Mary’s antithesis, became Freddie’s companion for her intense nights of excesses. Though there are a lot of rumors about Freddie having a sexual affair with Barbara, Valentin’s daughter explained that they often slept in the same bed, but they didn’t have sex.
Barbara Valentin’s daughter, Reichardt, reminisced about her teenage years, when Mercury stayed in their home and said that, one night back in those years, Freddie gave her money enough to buy 100-match tickets when she asked for some. She said Freddie Mercury didn’t know anything about the German currency, and the money really didn’t matter to him.
In a recent post on the fan page, the words of Barbara Valentin about Freddie Mercury also took place. In the quotation, Valentin refers to Mercury as the great love of her life. She goes on claiming that 20 women would have to live a hundred years each to have what she had with Freddie.
Here’s what was said in the recent post on the fan page:
“Rare picture of Freddie, Peter Straker, and Barbara Valentin celebrating New Year’s Eve in 1988.❤️
Let’s talk about Barbara Valentin… Valentin was an Austrian soft porn actress compared to Brigitte Bardot and who even worked with director Rainer Werner Fassbinder.
He met Freddie in Germany in early 1984, when he traveled to Munich to seek inspiration for his first solo album. Barbara was Mary’s antithesis and became Freddie’s companion for her intense nights of excesses.
There are a lot of rumors about Freddie having a sexual affair with Barbara (Lesley-Ann Jones wrote it in her book) but here’s what Valentine’s daughter has to say about this:
‘The two were very close to each other, they often slept in the same bed, but they didn’t have sex,’ Reichardt said, who was 17 at that time.”
Reichardt continues as:
“I started going out at night and, of course, as teenagers do, I asked my mother for money. Then she said to Freddie, ‘Let’s go, Freddie, give her some money.’
Freddie looked in his tight jeans, took out a ticket, and put it in my hand. That could be a 10-match or 100-match ticket, he didn’t know anything about the German currency, and the money really didn’t matter to him.”
The post was continued with a quotation from Barbara Valentin, in which she said:
“It was the great love of my life. Keep it. 20 women would have to live a hundred years each to have what I had. It’s better to stop at the right time. I suppose that’s what he did, too.”
