Lena Headey, who playsed Queen Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones, penned an emotional open letter to late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury.

Lena’s speech has revealed on Youtube channel of International Rescue Committee. She also shared the video on her Instagram page with this caption:

“What if the UK had never welcomed Freddie Mercury? The truth is, I don’t ever want to imagine a world without welcome and a world without his work and impact.

For #WorldRefugeeDay, I’ve written a personal letter to Freddie, singer, songwriter, and a refugee, who has shaped our world. Join me, @theIRC & @IRCEurope’s global call for Welcome. Learn more at Rescue.org/Welcome!”

A fan responded to Lena:

“Freddie’s music stopped me from committing suicide as a teenager. How fitting, seeing I am the granddaughter of a refugee myself.”

Another fan wrote:

“What a wonderful statement! Stand with and welcome refugees. Lena is an amazing person. Love these posts.”
