Slayer and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt took his official Instagram account to share a new post and revealed the bizarre thing that happened in his life recently.

In the picture attached below, you can see that Gary Holt shared the front page of the royalty check he recently received, and it’s clear to see that the cost is only 9 cents. Gary wanted to criticize this system and explained why it is so weird to see this kind of number.

The talented guitarist stated that even the cost of a stamp is 55 cents, therefore, it is really bizarre to have only 9 cents on his royalty check. Also, he revealed where the money came from by saying that some guy decided to play his solo from ‘Brain Dead.’

Furthermore, Gary said that he is sharing this information for the people who think musicians are living like a baller and showed behind the scenes to his fans and followers. In this way, he proved that being a musician is not as easy as everybody thinks.

Here is what Gary Holt wrote:

“For all those who think being in a band is living life like a baller! 9 cent royalty check! Full disclosure, it’s for some unknown thing where a guy did a snippet of himself playing a bit of my solo from Brain Dead, and all credit where due, they are like clockwork on their royalty payouts! But 9 cents?

The cost of a stamp is 55 cents. So it’s cost them nine times the amount of the check for postage! I do okay, not complaining! But this one? I think I’ll hang it on the walk of the new studio! Along with the last one. It was a whopping 18 cents!😆”
