Slayer and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt took his official Instagram account to share a new post and recalled the time they toured with Anthrax back in 1989.
As you might already know, Anthrax started a new North American tour named Headbangers Ball Tour in April 1989. Exodus and Helloween have also featured bands for this tour.
In the conversation, Gary mentioned that they decided to play Anthrax’s iconic ‘Indians’ song for the last show of the tour and said that they needed to wear like cowboys because of that.
As Gary shared a picture from backstage, he also revealed that those times were so enjoyable. Moreover, Gary said that this picture was sent to him by their sound engineer in those days, Ralph Mastrangelo.
Here is what Gary Holt said:
“1989, last show of the Headbangers Ball tour with Anthrax, we decided the song Indians needed some cowboys on stage! Best of times for sure!! Pic sent to me by our sound engineer in the 80’s Ralph Mastrangelo.”
