Exodus guitarist who is also known for his career with Slayer, Gary Holt, recently posted a photo on his Instagram account and cherished the days in which he got to spend time backstage with some awesome rockstars like Randy Blythe.
Gary Holt is known for his successful career as the guitarist and main songwriter of Exodus since 1981. However, he also hired to temporarily fill in for Jeff Hanneman in Slayer and he was confirmed to be a permanent member of the band in 2013, following the passing of Hanneman. He remained in the band until Slayer split in 2019.
Having such an active career in the metal scene obviously means that Gary Holt had the chance to perform in numerous shows. In his recent Instagram post, Holt revealed that aside from missing being on stage with his fans, he has also missed getting to hang out backstage with legendary stars such as Lamb of God’s lead vocalist and lyricist, Randy Blythe.
He also said that he enjoys being backstage with his ‘best half Lisa Holt,’ his wife, and cannot wait to be back on stage. As you may recall, Exodus had the chance to perform live at the beginning of 2020 in Germany and Belgium, right before the outbreak of the COVID-19, and later on in September, in an open-air concert hall in Illinois.
Here’s what Gary Holt said in the caption of his recent Instagram post:
“Miss hanging out backstage with my best half Lisa Holt and hanging around with all the bros, like D. Randall Blythe, who took this photo. To be on stage again… when it happens, my head is gonna fly off, I’m certain of this”
The good news is that Gary Holt will not have to wait for long as the band recently announced their scheduled tour dates for 2021-2022. Fans commented on Holt’s recent Instagram post and said that they too cannot wait to see him and Exodus on stage again.
