KISS’ co-lead singer and bassist Gene Simmons posted a tweet on his Twitter account and applauded the recent achievement of his daughter, the singer, poet and, model Sophie Tweed-Simmons, who managed to earn her first Platinum record.
The talented singer, poet, songwriter, and model who promotes body positivity, recently posted a tweet on her Twitter account and expressed her gratitude for her latest major step in the music industry. As you may recall, Sophie’s new poetry book ‘Secrets I Would Never Say, But I Would Sing‘ was released on November 27, 2020.
However, that wasn’t the only thing that Sophie did during the repetitive self-isolation days. She also collaborated with Felix Cartal and the duo created an amazing song that was appreciated by millions of listeners. ‘Mine‘ by Felix Cartal featuring Sophie Simmons was released in the Summer of 2020 and it soon became a huge success.
‘Mine’ came to be known as the COVID-19-summer song and its catchy rhythm and romantic lyrics got stuck in people’s heads. In fact, with her recent tweet, Sophie announced that she was awarded a Platinum Record by the Recording Industry Association of America after the hit song surpassed one million listeners.
Gene reposted Sophie’s tweet and expressed the pride that he felt for his talented daughter Sophie and applauded her writing skills. He jokingly added that when he grows up, he wants to be just like Sophie, a comment that must have made thousands chuckle. As it turns out kids can inspire their parents too.
Here’s what Gene Simmons said in his tweet:
“A Platinum Record for our Sophie’s writing skills. When I grow up, I want to be just like you.”
