KISS bassist and co-lead singer Gene Simmons’ daughter, Sophie Simmons, shared a post on Instagram stories revealing how she feels despite being an unsigned artist and an unsigned writer along with her successful career.
Sophie Simmons has many professions, she is in the music industry, like her father, she is also a writer and a model who promotes and supports body positivity. In fact, in 2014, Simmons launched a body-positive clothing line for The Style Club.
In addition to her success in the fashion industry, Simmons also released her debut single ‘Kiss Me’ in 2015. Two years after that, she collaborated with DJ duo Yellow Claw for a song and she is also the lyricist and vocalist on the album’s first track.
After the successful start of her music career, Sophie Simmons only climbed up in the music industry as both a vocalist and lyricist with songs that peaked in the lists for weeks despite not having a full studio album or many songs under her sleeve.
Sophie Simmons recently shared a post on her official Instagram stories revealing her emotions and opening up about how she feels about having a flourishing career after not being a signed artist and writer. Simmons stated that although she sometimes feels down, she is always grateful to have people she worked with and she outdid herself.
Here is what Simmons said:
“I’m an unsigned artist, an unsigned writer who has a song on top Canadian radio all summer, another song I co-wrote going viral on TikTok, a book of poems and lyrics coming out, 20 songwriting releases so far in 2020, with way more to come, and sometimes I still feel left behind in my career but I realize I’ve done so much more than I think and I’m just…thankful as F**K to the people I collaborate with.”
