On a recent Instagram post, KISS legend Gene Simmons‘ daughter Sophie Simmons shared several photos from the protests in Hollywood yesterday and gave an update on the peaceful environment she witnessed.

The musician and model daughter of KISS bassist Gene Simmons, Sophie has been showing her support for the recent protests against racism and police violence both on social media and on the streets.

On her recent post on Instagram, Sophie shared some photos of the demonstrations she joined yesterday on the Hollywood streets. On the caption of her post, she wrote a long statement highlighting the peaceful environment of the protests as she witnessed.

Hollywood protest yesterday completely peaceful. ☮️ marched, chanted, listened. some national guard on site, lots of police. we left a bit before curfew and experienced 100% peaceful protest 💕 (careful not to show any protesters’ face’s in these posts) but I want the narrative to show, it was peaceful on the protesters’ side, despite some reports out of California.

I can’t speak for what happened after curfew as we were already gone. we are ready to protest again this week. I turned comments off because this is not about validation. it’s about doing what I think is right.

Additionally, Sophie muted the comments section of her post and explained the reason for this decision:

I’m posting to encourage others to do the same, whether that is protest, voting, donating, conversations with friends and family, or self-reflection.
