KISS’ bassist and co-lead singer, Gene Simmons, posted a tweet to accept that the information he gave about a politician was wrong, however, he didn’t realize he blocked a fan who was sticking up for Gene in the first place.

Gene Simmons is highly active on his social media accounts and he enjoys using his Twitter account to share his views on social or political matters, and discuss music, alongside warning his followers about the ongoing pandemic.

After the recent conclusion of the United States presidential election, Simmons posted a news article considering Putin’s congratulation of President Joe Biden. However, the fact that he referred to Putin as the Prime Minister of Russia received a lot of criticism.

As you may know, Putin did serve as a Prime Minister but he is currently the President of Russia. After receiving dozens of correction comments, Simmons retweeted his previous tweet and said that he stands corrected and confirmed Putin is now the President of Russia even though he previously served as a Prime Minister.

In the meantime, Simmons also received some comments about how vocal he is considering his political views. His reaction to one of the negative comments was to thank a user for visiting his account and informing them that he has now blocked them.

However, it should be mentioned that Simmons blocked the wrong person as the person that he blocked was actually defending him against others who criticized Simmons by telling him to just go back to music instead of being so involved in politics.

Here’s what Simmons said about his mistake considering the title of Vladimir Putin:

I stand corrected. Putin was PM, now he is Pres. of Russia.”

Here’s what a user said to Simmons:

“Just play music.”

To which the user that Simmons blocked responded:

“For a guy telling others to stay outta politics, you sure post lots of politics on Twitter. It’s all you do on Twitter actually. So perhaps you should STFU.”

This is what Simmons responded to the person who tried to support him:

“Peter. It was a delight having you check out my Twitter account. You’re blocked. Have a nice day.”
