KISS icon Gene Simmons recently posted a tweet to show his support to Britney Spears, who he claimed earned her money the hard way: by working for it.
One of the most famous pop icons, Britney Spears, was under the conservatorship led by her father Jamie Spears, who had complete control of her assets. After the rumors revolving around abuse allegations, and Britney’s bizarre behavior they witnessed on social media, her fans decided to be Britney’s voice and started the ‘#FreeBritney’ movement.
Although Britney remained silent and did not respond to any of these rumors, she publicly endorsed the #FreeBritney movement in 2021, after going to the court to ask for a removal of the ‘abusive’ conservatorship. In September 2021, Jamie’s conservatorship was suspended, and on November 12, 2021, terminated by Judge Penny.
According to the recent news by TMZ, Jamie Spears’ lawyer Weingarten sent an email to Britney’s attorney Rosengart to ask to set a date for a deposition, proposing a meet and confer to set the dates and the ground rules. TMZ also shared the news in a tweet, and Gene Simmons recently came across it.
In a tweet replying to TMZ, Simmons said that this is not an area he usually comments on, but he thinks Britney Spears earned her money the hard way, by working for it. Moreover, the musician said that for that reason, no one including her family cannot have anything to say about her finances.
TMZ’s tweet read:
“Britney Spears will sit for a wide-ranging deposition … that is, if her father gets his way because Jamie Spears’ lawyer has fired off an email to Britney’s attorney asking to set a date for a depo.“
Upon seeing this, Gene Simmons tweeted:
“Ok. Not usually an area I comment on. But here goes. Britney Spears earned her money the hard way — she worked for it… No one, including parents and family, should have any say regarding her finances. Period.”
