In a recent Instagram post, Gojira clarified the situation about their upcoming shows and revealed that they won’t be fully rescheduling the tour dates.
Yesterday, Deftones announced on social media that they will be postponing their summer tour to 2022, which was meant to start in August, and stated that the pandemic will last much more than they expected.
This announcement made confusion around the metal fans because Gojira also had their own tour dates as well. Therefore, the French band released a new announcement to clear the air about the situation.
As Gojira said, only Boise and Chatanooga dates will be affected by the postponement of the tour with Deftone, and stated that they only won’t be playing in the August shows with the band, which means that they will be on the stage this year.
Here is the announcement from Gojira:
“To clear up any confusion, please note that Boise and Chatanooga are the ONLY Gojira headline shows affected by the Deftones tour postponement. Boise, ID has been moved to October 8, 2021 and Chattanooga, TN has been moved to November 8, 2021. All previously purchased tickets for these two shows will be honored on the new dates.
Although we are bummed we won’t see you with the Deftones this August we are already counting the days till we see you next Spring with 3 new dates!
Tickets for Las Vegas, Cincinnati and Nashville go on sale 7/16 @ 10AM Local time. If you bought tickets for one of the 2021 shows and cannot make the rescheduled show, you will receive an email directly allowing you to request a refund. For more details please visit livenation.com/refund.”
