Green Day recently made an exciting announcement through their official Twitter account as they declared that they’re going to release a new track in the coming days while advising their fans to be the first ones to hear it at this Saturday’s (February 20) NHL Outdoors game.
As you may recall, back in April 2020 Billie Joe Armstrong had announced that he’s planning to record a new album with the band once the COVID-19 pandemic is over and that he has already composed six songs. A month later, the band released a cover of Blondie’s ‘Dreaming‘ which surprised their fans who were expecting a new album.
While fans have been excitedly waiting for Green Day’s new album, the band gave them some good news through their official Twitter account. Green Day announced that they’re going to release a brand new song ‘Here Comes The Shock‘ on Sunday, February 21 in North America and with the rest of the world on Monday, February 22.
It seems like Green Day foresaw that their devoted fans couldn’t wait until then, as they went on to say that the fans who cannot wait until Sunday, can hear it first by tuning in on this Saturday’s National Hockey League Outdoors game at 3 PM (ET) which will air on NBC.
Here’s what Green Day said in their recent tweet:
“Get ready to rip! New song ‘Here Comes The Shock’ out Sunday in North America + the rest of the world on Monday.
Hear it first during this Saturday’s NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe game at 3 pm ET on NBC! 🤯”
