Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong posted a rare video of recently deceased guitar legend Eddie Van Halen which revealed the one person he would like to play with and his answer moved fans to tears.

As you may know, Van Halen’s co-founder and iconic guitarist Eddie Van Halen sadly passed away on October 6, 2020, at the age of 65. Eddie’s son Wolfgang announced the death of his father after a long battle with throat cancer with a heartbreaking statement on Twitter.

Here’s what Wolf stated in his message:

“I can’t believe I’m having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning.

He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I’ve shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My heart is broken and I don’t think I’ll ever fully recover from this loss. I love you so much, Pop.“

After the devastating news about Van Halen’s death revealed, many musicians and fans shared their best memories of the guitar icon. Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong also posted a video of Eddie taken during a Q&A with the fans in an event named ‘What It Means to Be an American.’

As you will see in the video Billie posted, a fan wants to know which musician who is not around anymore Eddie would like to perform with by stating:

“My question is; of all the deceased musicians out there that no longer around if you could pick one to play with, who would that be?”

As a response, Eddie says ‘wow‘ and pauses for a second, then he gives an unexpected answer which moved the audience so much that they applaud to the echo.

Here’s how Eddie Van Halen replied to the fan’s question:

“Wow… I would like to jam with my father again.”

In the comment section of Armstrong’s post, Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang also shared a comment to appreciate Billie’s gesture with a red heart emoji.
