Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong posted a photo of recently deceased Canadian rock singer Mr. Chi Pig on Instagram and shared a sad goodbye to the talented musician.

The lead singer of SNFU, Ken Chinn, better known as Mr. Chi Pig, revealed that he was diagnosed medically to have only one month to live in November 2019. The 57-year-old musician sadly passed away on July 16, 2020. SNFU’s bassist Dave Bacon confirmed Chinn’s death via a message on his Facebook page.

The iconic frontman of Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong posted a photo of Mr. Chi Pig on his official Instagram account and reacted to his sad death. Apparently, Billie had a chance to see SNFU live while he was 16 years old. On the caption of his post, he also mentioned how talented Chi Pig was and bid him farewell.

“Oh, man. This breaks my heart. Chi Pig was one of the greatest front people I’ve ever seen. I saw SNFU at Gilman when I was 16. I thought he was going to jump through the ceiling.

Super smart. Great lyrics. Amazing album titles. So funny. He had an amazing mask collection. lead singer for SNFU. What a bummer. Sending love to all the Edmonton and Vancouver punks. What a loss.”
