According to the recent post shared by the official Instagram account of Gibson, Epiphone is launching a new guitar named ‘Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior’ in collaboration with Green Day lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong.

Formed in 1987 by Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt, Green Day has gained enormous popularity starting from the early 90s. They have released thirteen studio albums up to this point and they gained many awards including five Grammys and two Tony awards. Green Day also took their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.

Green Day released their latest album ‘Father of All Motherfuckers’ on February 7, 2020. The fans were waiting for new songs and in 2021, they released three singles named ‘Pollyanna,’ ‘Here Comes the Shock’ and ‘Holy Toledo!.’ They also recently performed a cover version of KISS’ ‘Rock and Roll All Nite.’

Besides his works with Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong is also active in his solo career and he released his second studio album ‘No Fun Mondays’ in 2020, in which he covered fourteen songs. Armstrong also collaborated with Epiphone and they launched the new Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior, which is a guitar for beginners and pros.

Here is how Gibson announced the new guitar:

“Few riffs are as easily identifiable as those of  Billie Joe Armstrong.  His sound and style have become iconic in no small part due to his aggressive guitar tones, genre-defining lyrics, and his powerhouse attitude.
