Duff McKagan, the legendary bassist of Guns N’ Roses, has taken Instagram to celebrate the 65th birthday of the British rock guitarist Steve Jones, who is the former member of Sex Pistols, while calling him an icon.

The great musician McKagan has paid huge respect to one of his idols in the music industry. Recently, Duff has shared a bit younger picture of Steve Jones and expressed his admiration for him as wishing him a happy birthday.

Stated that Steve Jones has taught a lot of the rock musicians how to play guitar for years, McKagan said Jones is teaching how to live well, laugh hard, and be just straight-up badass to the many right now.

Steve Jones, who turned 65 this year, is an iconic guitarist, singer, actor, and radio DJ, best known as a member of the Sex Pistols. Following the split of the Sex Pistols, he formed The Professionals with former bandmate Paul Cook.

In 1995, he formed the short-lived supergroup Neurotic Outsiders with members of Guns N’ Roses and Duran Duran. Jones was ranked in Rolling Stones list of the ‘100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.’

Here is what Duff McKagan said in his latest Instagram post:

“Happy Birthday to this fuckin’ ICON. He taught a lot of us how to play guitar… And he’s taught a lot of us now, how to live well, laugh hard, and be just straight-up badass. Love ya Steve Jones.”
