The lead singer and guitarist of Halestorm, Lzzy Hale shared a story on her official Instagram account stating that she would be muted for a while joining a social media movement.
The riots against the unjust treatment of police forces and racial discrimination have been continuing non-stop in many states. Additionally, several movements to support the protests have started on social media platforms.
Halestorm’s frontwoman Lzzy Hale also announced she would be participating in a movement on Instagram called ‘Amplify Melanated Voices.’ The movement aimed to challenge the participants to mute their contents and listen to those voices that need to be heard.
By joining this challenge, Lzzy won’t be sharing any content of hers on Instagram until June 7th. Instead, she will be focusing on listening to other voices that need to be heard and elevated.
Here’s what Lzzy wrote on her Instagram story:
“I’m muted June 1-7
Amplify Melanated Voices Movement
Stepping out of the algorithm to amplify voices that need to be heard. I’m muted but I will be listening, watching, trying to learn, and unlearn… and participating in any way I can in my actual life Off of social media.”
