Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale shared a short clip from ‘Back from the Dead,’ which was based on her struggle with depression and revealed that her mental health problems almost led to her suicide.

As you may recall, Lzzy Hale previously announced that they started working on their upcoming fifth album and released its first track entitled ‘Back from the Dead’ on August 17, 2021. The song reflects Hale’s mental health problems which she has been struggling with for years.

Therefore, Hale wanted to raise awareness against this issue and invited everyone to share their own stories of how they got rid of depression and anxiety. She stated that she managed to heal through music. Thus, their latest single was an essential part of her healing process.

In her recent Instagram post, Hale admitted that she had been dealing with mental problems and even thought about killing herself. However, she stopped digging her grave and let music become her cure while battling severe depression. She encouraged her fans, saying that they aren’t alone but strong individuals who can do anything to get better.

Hale’s IG post read:

“‘Back from the Dead’ is written about my mental health journey over the past few years. I was going through a really hard time, as we all have been in our own ways. I found myself standing on the edge of the world getting completely lost in my own oblivion, but once again music saved me, and through writing my truth, I didn’t just let the darkness and depression in my mind dig me an early grave.

I’ve erased my name from my headstone, so save your prayers, I’m back! I hope this song, as I pass it on… reminds you of your individual strength and that you are not alone.”
