Halestorm’s iconic frontwoman and considered as one of the most talented guitarists of the new era, Lzzy Hale, has made a new interview with Revolver alongside the bassist of the band Josh Smit and they have talked about the legendary songs of Metallica.
After being asked which Metallica song is their favorite, both of the stars hesitated to give an exact answer to the question. After thinking about some time, Lzzy Hale named ‘Fade to Black’ and admitted that she still loves the cover of So What.
On the other hand, bassist Josh Smith stated that Master of Puppets was a great song too. You might already know that ‘Master Of Puppets’ was the second track of the self-titled album and it was peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200 and received widespread acclaim from critics.
Here is what Lzzy said:
“Oh man, oh my gosh – what that is the greatest Metallica song ever written? Oh, why must you do this to me?
OK, a nice happy medium – I’m gonna go with ‘Fade to Black’ because it kind of has the best of both worlds. It’s not necessarily all valid. I still like the cover of So what. There’s just so much.”
Josh Smith added this:
“‘Master of Puppets’ was a great one too. I’m gonna be the a-hole that says the thing that no one wants to hear – that it was on the ‘Black Album.’
Because, as a fifth-grader hearing, like, really, that was my introduction to Metallica and really most like metal that was it! And ‘Sad But True’ – I was like, ‘Whoa!'”
