Paramore’s founder, frontwoman, and songwriter, Hayley Williams, recently posted a tweet on her Twitter account and kindly asked Paramore fans to stop insisting that Paramore has broken up while making it public that this is not at all true.

Although Hayley Williams achieved worldwide fame as the founder and frontwoman of the famous rock band Paramore, in 2020 she made it public that she had started pursuing a solo career. She released her highly anticipated debut solo album ‘Petals for Armor‘ on May 8, 2020, and on February 5, 2021, she surprised her fans with her second album ‘FLOWERS for VASES / descanos‘ which was also well-received by both fans and critics.

The fact that Williams has been working so hard on her solo career has encouraged many to spread the rumor about Paramore being over. As you probably know, the band has had various tough moments since 2010 which marked the year when Josh Farro and Zac Farro announced that they were leaving the band. Josh Farro accused the band of being manufactured by a major label and Hayley Williams of being manipulated by her management.

He said that as she is the only member signed to Atlantic Records, that gave her the right to treat Paramore as her solo project and that her bandmates were just ‘riding on the coattails of her dream.’ Although Josh didn’t return to Paramore after that, his brother Zac Farro reunited with Paramore in 2017. After Josh’s departure from the band, bassist Jeremy Davis left Paramore in late 2015.

In 2016, he initiated a legal battle with Hayley Williams and Taylor York and stated that he was entitled to ownership and authorship of various songs on their self-titled album and he reached a settlement with the band in 2017. All these events deeply affected Hayley Williams who in 2015 was also going through a divorce with her ex-husband Chad Gilbert. As she was suffering from depression and mental health issues, Williams decided to privately leave the band for a short period in 2015.

As Hayley Williams has been very open about all the internal disputes of Paramore, it makes sense that the rumors considering Paramore breaking up have angered her. Although she has said multiple times that it is not true, the rumors kept spreading, especially after the release of her second album. In her recent tweet, she once again asked people ‘to stop perpetuating the rumor that Paramore ever broke up’ as it is incorrect.

Here’s what Hayley Williams said in her recent tweet:

“I am once again asking you to stop perpetuating the rumor that Paramore ever broke up.”
