The talented vocalist of Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong has been silent on social media platforms for a while now, particularly after the break out of the sexual harassment allegations against his son Joey Armstrong.

As you recall, Billie’s son and the drummer of SMWRS, Joey Armstrong was accused of emotional abuse and sexual coercion of a minor. Joey’s ex-girlfriend and The Regrettes’ singer Lydia Night revealed the details of their relationship while she was 16 years old.

Last week, Joey Armstrong’s band SMWRS shared a statement on Instagram showing their reaction to the ongoing sexual harassment issues in the music industry. Lydia Night couldn’t stay silent to their open letter and she opened up about the details of her relationship with Joey.

On her five-page long statement, Lydia explained her troubling experience which she claimed she was exposed to emotional and sexual abuse by Joey Armstrong. Following Lydia Night’s claims, Joey made another statement on SWMRS’s Instagram account and apologized to her even though he didn’t believe everything she said was true.

Here’s what Joey Armstrong stated on his apology to Lydia Night:

“I was selfish and I didn’t treat her the way she deserves to be have been treated both during our relationship and in the two years since we broke up. I have apologized to her privately and I hope she can forgive me, if and when she is ready to do so. I own my mistakes and will work hard to regain the trust that I lost.”

However, Joey’s father Billie Joe Armstrong has been silent on social media platforms since the beginning of Lydia’s allegations against his son. His attitude seemed to be related to the controversial claims against Joey and his relationship with a minor at the time.

Billie shared his last post on Instagram on July 18th, while on Twitter his most recent tweet was dated back on May 22nd.
