Metallica lead singer James Hetfield revealed what he felt about Elton John’s recent comments on Metallica and their iconic song ‘Nothing Else Matters’ in his recent interview with Apple Music.

Thrash metal giant released its ‘The Black Album Remastered’ on September 10, 2021, to celebrate the album’s 30th anniversary. Also, they started another project named ‘The Metallica Black List’ featuring several artists’ covers of Metallica songs.

Miley Cyrus and Elton John collaborated to cover ‘Nothing Else Matters’ which was highly exciting for both musicians. During one of their previous interviews, John, Cyrus, and Metallica members shared their thoughts about the process and the album itself. John praised Metallica and made James Hetfield cry.

In addition, Hetfield drew attention to Elton John’s comments on Metallica and their songs and said it was unbelievable hearing these from the person who wrote classics like ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ and ‘Candle in the Wind.’ According to the frontman, getting very positive reviews from Elton John, who is the mastermind behind legendary works, is a great compliment.

Hetfield stated in his interview that:

“Earlier when we were playing with Miley and Elton John was on a Zoom call, and he says ‘That’s… ‘Nothing Else Matters’ one of the most beautiful melodies and kind of I guess ballad love songs written.’ It’s like there is no way, this man is saying that who wrote ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ and ‘Candle in the Wind.’ Are you sure? A huge compliment and I will take it what it is from the recycler to the recycling of ‘The Black Album.'”
