Led Zeppelin guitarist and mastermind Jimmy Page has posted a new ‘on this day’ post on his Instagram account and remembered the day that changed everything for Led Zep.

Led Zeppelin has a recording company named ‘Swan Song,’ which was formed by band members in 1974 after the help of the Atlantic Records’ founder, Ahmet Ertegun.

In a recent Instagram post, Jimmy has remembered the day that Swan Song launched. Here’s what Jimmy wrote:

“On this day in 1974, I attended the Swan Song launch party at the Four Seasons hotel in New York. ⁣

Peter Grant had formed Swan Song as the band’s record label and we had a launch in London, New York, and L.A. ⁣

Here in New York was some of the cast: Led Zeppelin members, Maggie Bell, Peter Grant, and of course, Ahmet Ertegun. Besides Led Zeppelin releases on the label were Bad Company, Detective, Pretty Things, Maggie Bell, Dave Edmunds, Sad Café and Death Wish II, by yours truly.”

A fan named Helen commented:

“Wow, jimmy I love this photo. And dad looks fab, doesn’t he? Great pic of you all. V happy days.”

Another fan named Yogi said:

“I heard that the Swan Song launch party was pretty epic.”
