Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page shared a post on his official Instagram page revealing a story about the time when Led Zeppelin members had to spend their New Year’s Eve in Seattle Airport since their flight was delayed for hours.
Since 2020 is now gone, all musicians shared posts on their social media accounts in order to express their emotions after the catastrophic year filled with loss and pain. While some cursed 2020 and revealed their wishes from 2021, some resurfaced old memories.
Jimmy Page is one of those who remembered an old New Year’s Eve on his latest post on his official Instagram page. Page revealed the time when Led Zeppelin was stuck in Seattle Airport for a flight to California back in 1968, however, the flight was delayed for hours and the band was waiting for a cancellation.
As all band members were waiting, they noticed that it was a brand new year thanks to an announcement which was made over the public address saying ‘Happy New Year.’ Page stated that it was not the best way to celebrate New Year and wished the best for this New Year’s Eve.
Here is what Jimmy Page said in the caption of his latest post:
“On this day in 1968, I was in transit en route to LA, California to play the Whisky a Go-Go with Led Zeppelin. ⠀
⠀
There were very few travelers at the deserted Seattle Airport awaiting the flight to LA. The plane was seriously delayed and it seemed like many hours passed sitting and waiting for the flight to be called. When out of the sidereal gloom, an announcement was made over the public address – ‘Happy New Year.’
It became clear this had not been the best way to spend a New Year’s Eve. I hope you all have a good one tonight.”
