Led Zeppelin guitarist and also the co-founder of the band, Jimmy Page, has taken his official Instagram account today and shared the untold details of England-based band Led Zeppelin’s first travel to the United States back in 1968.
While Jimmy Page shared the story of how he used to tour the United States with his side band The Yardbirds, he also stated that it was the first time of his bandmates Robert Plant, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones. Jimmy also stated that they stayed at one of the most famous hotels in the whole of California, The Chateau Marmont.
As Page shared the details of Led Zeppelin’s travel to the United States and his nonimmigrant visa, over 15K people pushed the like button of his post. One of the users who liked it was Rage Against The Machines star Tom Morello. After sharing the post, most of the fans warned Jimmy about wearing a mask when he travels around.
Here is what Jimmy wrote in the caption:
“On this day in 1968, it was Led Zeppelin’s first journey to the United States.
The members of Led Zeppelin entered the United States for our first American Tour, and we stayed at one of my old Yardbird haunts – The Chateau Marmont.
I had been used to touring the States with The Yardbirds over the previous two years, but for first-timers Robert Plant, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones, it was not going to take long for them to be initiated into the ways of the US!”
