Led Zeppelin founder Jimmy Page’s girlfriend, the famous poet Scarlett Sabet, recently posted a photo on her Instagram account and celebrated the World Book Day of her fans while suggesting some books that she has been enjoying reading at the moment.
As you may recall, the successful poet Scarlett Sabet released her spoken word album ‘Catalyst‘ in October 2019, which was produced by Jimmy Page. It was her fifth published work but her first-ever spoken word album and it featured eight new poems which were written and performed by herself.
The album was well-received by both fans and critics and it was praised for its uniqueness. Being such an influential figure in the world of contemporary literature, Sabet could not miss out on celebrating World Book Day. Aside from a poet, Sabet is also a bookworm and in her recent Instagram post, she shared some of her book suggestions with her fans.
She started out with Gerard Malanga’s new collection of poems named ‘The New Melancholia & Other Poems’ and she described his writing as ‘pure and spiritual.’ Then she went on to talk about John Keats’ ‘So Bright and Delicate: Love Letters And Poems of John Keats to Fanny Brawne’ which was released over a decade ago and said that it has been really inspiring to ‘immerse‘ herself in Keats’ works.
Finally, she suggested an anthology named ‘Light Blue Dark Blue: An Anthology of Oxford & Cambridge Writing’ and expressed her excitement about having a first edition of the book which was published back in 1960. She said that it is a great anthology that was edited by well-known academics from Oxford and Cambridge universities, and some great works by Sylvia Plath and her husband Ted Hughes, who are apparently some of her favorite writers.
Here’s what Scarlett Sabet said in the caption of her recent Instagram post:
“Happy World Book Day! Books have been a magical part of my life since I was a child. These are some of the books I’m enjoying at the moment!
Gerard Malanga‘s official beautiful new collection of poems ‘The New Melancholia & Other Poems’ published by Bottle of Smoke Press. Gerard is an amazing man and his writing is so pure and spiritual.
‘So Bright and Delicate: Love Letters And Poems of John Keats to Fanny Brawne’ by John Keats. Working on the bicentennial celebration of Keats’s passing with Poet Laureate Simon Armitage has been a wonderful excuse to immerse myself into all things Keats.
‘Light Blue Dark Blue: An Anthology of Oxford & Cambridge Writing,’ a lovely first edition published in 1960. Edited by Julian Mitchell & John Duller for Oxford; William Donaldson & Robin McLaren for Cambridge, and includes work by Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes amongst others. Happy reading. 📚”
