Famous talk show host Eddie Trunk shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing a video he received from Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 for his 57th birthday. The guitarist wanted to celebrate Trunk’s birthday by playing a mash-up of ‘Thunder Kiss ’65‘ and ‘Happy Birthday to You.’

As many of you might know, White Zombie first released ‘Thunder Kiss ’65‘ with its third studio album, ‘La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One’ on March 17, 1992. The track was later released as a single and included in compilations, such as Rob Zombie’s 2003 collection ‘Past, Present & Future’ and 2006’s greatest hits album, ‘The Best of Rob Zombie.’

Being Rob Zombie’s guitarist for the past 16 years, since the two first performed together at Ozzfest back in 2005, John 5 must have performed ‘Thunder Kiss ’65’ numerous times. Although this may sound irrelevant, knowing the track recently came in handy while celebrating his friend’s birthday.

Eddie Trunk celebrated his birthday recently and started sharing the birthday messages he received from his fellow rockers on his official Twitter account. One of his friends was John 5, and he wished Eddie a happy birthday in the coolest way possible.

The guitarist recorded a video in which he performed the classic ‘Happy Birthday to You’ with his electric guitar. However, he did it in John 5 way and added a little spice as he combined the classic birthday track with ‘Thunder Kiss ’65’s guitar riff. Being a music historian, Eddie Trunk instantly recognized the homage and thanked the guitarist for the special video as well as the one-of-a-kind birthday serenade.

Eddie Trunk’s tweet follows:

“Leave it to my friend John 5 to send me this super cool birthday serenade. With a little ‘Thunder Kiss’ thrown in! Thanks, buddy. Appreciate it. Thank you to ALL for the birthday wishes today. Really really appreciate it!”
