According to a recent article, The Beatles icon John Lennon autographed ‘Double Fantasy’ album which he personally signed for his killer, Mark David Chapman, is now up for auction, and the minimum price was placed as $400,000.

As you might remember, The Beatles legend John Lennon sadly passed away at the age of 40 after he got shot four times at close range by Mark David Chapman on December 8, 1980. Lennon’s family and fans around the world were devastated after the tragic assassination of The Beatles star.

A recent article opened up the devastating story of Lennon’s assassination once again following the news of his ‘Double Fantasy’ album, which he personally signed for his murderer, is up for auction.

In late 1980, John Lennon released his fifth studio album named ‘Double Fantasy‘ with his wife Yoko Ono to whom he got married on March 20, 1969. Although the album marked John’s return to recording music full-time, it ended up being his final studio album released while he was alive.

On December 8, 1980, approximately six hours before his death, John Lennon autographed a copy of ‘Double Fantasy’ for his soon-to-be murderer, Mark David Chapman. Lennon and Ono were stopped by Chapman to get a signature on their way to the Record Plant to join a recording session. Unfortunately, six hours later, John was shot to death at the exact same spot.

Recently, Goldin Auctions announced that the copy of the iconic album of John Lennon, ‘Double Fantasy,’ which was autographed for his killer is now up for auction once again. The bidding for the record will start on November 23rd and the minimum price is indicated as  $400,000.
