The famous actor and the member of Hollywood Vampires, Johnny Depp shared a statement to announce that he was asked to resign from his role in ‘Fantastic Beasts‘ movie after losing the defamation suit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

As you might remember, Hollywood star Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard filed for divorce after staying married only for one year. She also claimed she was exposed to domestic abuse. The famous couple’s divorce finalized in 2017, however, Depp sued his ex-wife due to her for $50 million for defamation in a newspaper article published in 2019 which called the actor a ‘wife-beater.’

Last week, the court in the U.K. decided against Depp and founded the newspaper not guilty even though they published an article titled ‘Gone Potty: How can JK Rowling be ‘genuinely happy’ casting wife-beater Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film?’

Recently on Instagram, Johnny Depp shared a statement to announce that he was asked to resign by Warner Bros. from his part in the upcoming film, ‘Fantastic Beasts.’ In his statement, Depp thanked his fans and friends for their endless support during these challenging times of his life. He also revealed that he was planning to appeal and continue to fight to uncover the truth about the allegations against him.

Here’s what Johnny Depp asserted in his statement:

“In light of recent events, I would like to make the following short statement.

Firstly, I’d like to thank everybody who has gifted me with their support and loyalty.

I have been humbled and moved by your many messages of love and concern, particularly over the last few days.

Secondly, I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected and agreed to that request.

The surreal judgment of the court in the U.K. will not change my fight to tell the truth and I confirm that I plan to appeal.

My resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false. My life and career will not be defined by this moment in time. Thank you for reading.”
