Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner shared a post on the band’s official Instagram account and gave an update about his current state of health after suffering an acute cardiac aortic dissection about two months ago.

When the incident happened on September 26, Faulkner was on the stage with his band at the Louder Than Life festival. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and went through a successful open-heart surgery that lasted nearly 10 hours. After the incident, Judas Priest decided to postpone the rest of their tour to give Faulkner some time to recover.

Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford had given information about Faulkner’s current health status and said that he had a long conversation with the guitarist and that he is feeling good. Halford also stated that Faulkner’s incident was a very emotional moment for him, and he still can’t watch Faulkner’s performance because it is a lot to handle.

In his recent update, Richie Faulkner explained that it has been seven weeks since the unfortunate incident and said he feels excellent and healthy. He said that he can move and walk easily, and he is trying to stay active for a speedy recovery. The guitarist noted that he keeps playing guitar every day, and the support he has received will help him be back on stage sometime soon. He ended his message by celebrating Thanksgiving and sending his love to all the fans while noting that he hopes they’ll reunite soon.

Here is Richie’s update:

“Update from Richie: Hello there maniacs! I just wanted to post, and I’ve had many of you asking for an update on how my recovery is going. I was able to return home from the hospital ten days after my surgery to continue recovery at home.

It has now been seven weeks since the night it all happened and I’m feeling very strong and positive. My incisions have healed very well and I can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m walking well and moving freely, I’m pretty active and I’m starting cardiac therapy very soon. I’m playing guitar every day and with the love and support of my family, the continued support from you guys and the inspiration that I get from the guitar, I’ll be back on stage in no time! My surgeons are very pleased with my progress and have all reserved front row tickets for the next Priest show.

It’s Thanksgiving this month, and whether you celebrate it or not, I have a lot to give thanks for this year; including all of you for your patience, your love, and your support. Lots of love, and I’ll see you down the front soon, horns held high.”

It seems like Faulkner is doing better now, and he is fully concentrated on his recovery. His good news also made the fans happy, and they filled the comments sections with messages of love and best wishes.
