Former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing gave an interview to Tales From The Road in which he stated David Ellefson‘s grooming-a-fan incident is quite normal. Moreover, the musician added that everybody else does these things behind closed doors.

As you may already know, Megadeth’s now-former bassist David Ellefson was involved in a sex scandal with an underage girl. He was accused of being a pedophile and grooming a minor when his conversations and scandalous masturbation video were leaked. Although the woman involved said she had consent, Ellefson faced heavy criticism and Megadeth fired him from the band.

Following this shocking news, Judas Priest guitarist showed his support for Ellefson. In the interview by Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, he stated that Ellefson is a gentleman who has a lot of friends around the world. He then said everyone has strengths and weaknesses and claimed he knows Ellefson will come back someday.

In a recent interview by Tales From The Road, K.K. Downing talked about David Ellefson again. The guitarist stated that he would recruit Ellefson if he was in need of a bass player. While mentioning the sex scandal, he said that everything happens behind closed doors and everybody does it. Downing then added it would be called rock and roll back then and that doesn’t bother him that much for that reason.

Speaking about David Ellefson, K.K. Downing told Tales From The Road that:

“If I was looking for a bass player now, I wouldn’t hesitate to ask Dave to join. Whatever shit happens with him, it’s behind closed doors. Everybody else does it. And if you turn the clock back 10 or 20 years, it would just be called rock and roll. So, that doesn’t bother me at all.
