The co-founder and guitarist of The Rolling Stone, Keith Richards, has taken Instagram to celebrate the 80th birthday of the iconic R&B and soul vocalist, Aaron Neville, through some rare throwback pictures displaying the two’s studio sessions.

The British legend, who has an on-and-off relation with social media, has appeared on Instagram a week after he recalled his dear friend and a great collaborator on his side project, X-Pensive Winos, Steve Jordan.

On his most recent post on the platform, Richards wholeheartedly wished the happiest of birthdays to Neville, who recorded his 2013 album, ‘My True Story,’ with Keith Richards in only five days. Besides, the history of Richards and Neville goes way back to 1975, when The Rolling Stones had Aaron’s brother’s band, The Meters, open for them.

A few years after, in 1981, The Neville Brothers performed on the same stage with The Stones in front of stadium crowds. Later on, Richards asked Neville’s son, Ivan Neville, to join and play keyboard on his side band, X-pensive Winos.

Here is what Keith said:

“Dear Aaron, Wishing you the happiest of birthdays!
Love,
Keith. @aaronneville 📷: J.Bouquet”
