Theodora Richards, the daughter of the co-founder, guitarist, and secondary vocalist of the Rolling Stones, Keith Richards, shared a video on her official page celebrating John Lennon’s 80th birthday with his iconic song Gimme Some Truth.
John Lennon was the founder, co-lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist of the legendary band the Beatles. After the Beatles disbanded in 1970, Lennon continued as a solo artist. As a performer, writer or co-writer, he had 25 number-one singles in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His best-selling solo album, Double Fantasy, won the Grammy Award for Album of the year following his death.
Alongside his successful music career, Lennon also was a peace activist and his most known protest song was Gimme Some Truth, containing various political references emerging from the time it was written, following years of the Vietnam War.
Theodora Richards shared a video on her official Instagram page with Gimme Some Truth playing in the background and celebrated John Lennon‘s 80th birthday. Richards also stated that the message of this legendary song is now more important than ever.
Here is what she said:
“Happy 80th to John Lennon. This message couldn’t be more important than now.”
